The City of San Leandro is a well-established community of approximately 90,000 residents and one of the Bay Area's most diverse cities. The City seeks a community-focused recreation professional to lead the Recreation Division of the Recreation and Parks Department. The Recreation Services Manager reports to the Director of Parks and Recreation and supervises the Recreation Division team of four full-time supervisors supported by approximately 28 FTE part-time staff.
 
The ideal candidate will bring a business-minded approach, balancing strong fiscal management with a focus on deepening community engagement and ensuring the long-term sustainability of programs. In collaboration with the director, the manager will align operations, initiatives, and partnerships with the department’s long-range vision. This individual will also be a people-centered leader who fosters a supportive workplace culture and communicates effectively across diverse audiences.
 
Requires four years of increasingly responsible experience coordinating comprehensive recreation, leisure, community service, and/or cultural arts programs, including two years in a management or supervisory capacity, and a Bachelor’s degree.
 
Salary range is $141,300 - $171,744 (+3.5% COLA effective 7/1/25) + attractive benefits. Apply by Monday, May 26, 2025.
