Menlo Park seeks a forward-thinking and experienced policing professional to serve as its next Police Chief. This highly visible, people-focused leader will build trust through open communication, consistency, and compassion while engaging and empowering employees at all levels. The ideal candidate will demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, high emotional intelligence, and a collaborative leadership style.

Highly qualified candidates will bring 10 years of progressively responsible policing experience, including substantial command-level experience in a municipal law enforcement agency or comparable organization, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Possession of a CA POST Management and/or Executive Certificate, or the ability to satisfy CA POST requirements, is required for appointment.

The salary range goes up to $316,067 and is supplemented by a generous benefits package. Closes: Sunday, September 20, 2026, at midnight.
