Mountain View's next City Attorney will lead a talented team of 12 professionals and join a collaborative Executive Leadership Team in advancing the City's ambitious goals. 

The City seeks an accomplished municipal law executive who combines exceptional legal judgment with intellectual curiosity and a solutions-oriented approach. The successful candidate will provide counsel on complex and often precedent-setting issues involving municipal governance, housing, land use, CEQA, and evolving State legislation. This partnership-oriented leader will thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy helping shape public policy while navigating today's most challenging legal issues. 

Executive or senior-level municipal law experience serving as a City Attorney or Assistant City Attorney is desirable. A Juris Doctor degree and active membership in the State Bar of California are required.

Mountain View’s compensation is competitive while remaining fiscally responsible. Salary will be DOQE (incumbent salary: $362,807) and is supplemented by an attractive benefits package. Closes at 11:59 pm on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
