The Public Works Department, with a budget of $62.3 million and 206 FTE employees, oversees a broad and diverse range of programs that support the City.
 
Sunnyvale seeks an accomplished well-rounded public works professional who inspires excellence and delivers exceptional results. This engaged, people-first leader will bring technical knowledge and/or experience in the department’s five divisions and play a pivotal role in shaping the City’s programs and infrastructure for decades to come. Qualified candidates will have 7 years of progressively responsible, related experience, with at least four years in a senior level management position and a bachelor's degree. A master's degree and public sector experience are desired.
 
The salary range is $330,891-$397,069, DOQE + excellent benefits. Closes at midnight on Sunday, May 17, 2026.
