Albany seeks an experienced, community-focused policing professional who thrives in a small, progressive environment. The ideal candidate will be a responsive, hands-on leader, comfortable wearing multiple hats and stepping in wherever needed to support the team and community. They will bring broad, well-rounded experience and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Competitive candidates will have eight (8) years of law enforcement experience, including five (5) years in a sworn supervisory or administrative role at the rank of Lieutenant or higher. A Bachelor’s degree in police science, public administration, or a related field is required.

The salary range goes up to $270,420 plus 2.5% educational incentive pay and up to 10% longevity pay for years of sworn service. Salary is supplemented by a generous benefits package.  Recruitment closes Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 11:59 pm.
